Mr. Gary Blohm is the U.S. Army Geospatial Information Officer.

Gary Blohm, Geospatial Information Officer, leads the Army Geospatial Enterprise. He oversees the collection and validation of geospatial requirements and the formulation of geospatial policy. Working with the Geospatial-Enterprise Governance Board, he sets priorities, secures resources, and synchronizes geospatial solutions across the Army.

Mr. Blohm became the third Army GIO in August 2018. In addition to his assignment as the Army GIO, he serves as the Director of the Army Geospatial Center and the Director of the Engineer Research and Development Center’s Geospatial Research Laboratory.

Mr. Blohm has held both technical and management positions throughout his federal career. He has a background in electrical engineering, enterprise architecture, standards, and interoperability, as well as Acquisition Corps certification. His experience makes him ideally suited for the Army GIO position.
