    Laynetta Monroe recently joined the Major Systems Branch, Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office located at the Alexandria site as an administrative officer. She previously was assigned to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency working as its international travel coordinator/ project coordinator supporting the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program.
  • Johnston joins Civilian Employee Fund Council

    The council provides TEC with approximately $3 per civilian employee on the unit manning document each year. These funds help finance the Holiday and Picnic Committee activities.
  • Zimmerman and Pérez receive Superior Civilian Service Awards

    Zimmerman, chief of TEC’s Topography, Imagery, and Geospatial Research Division was cited, “for his contributions as a leader and advocate in geospatial engineering research, development, and applications that will have a lasting effect on the Army and the scientific community.”
  • Girl Scout group helps community during MLK Jr. Day of Service

    When the Disaster Services Coordinator of the Voluntary Action Center of Prince William County, Va., requested assistance in assembling disaster kits for senior citizens Jan. 13, members of Junior Girl Scout Group 549 stepped in to help. This activity was part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
  • Benton, Pa., native Sgt. Brian D. Follmer awarded Bronze Star Medal

    Sgt. Brian D. Follmer, a native of Benton, Pa., was recently awarded the Bronze Star Medal in a ceremony conducted at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) in Alexandria, Va. This is Follmer’s second Bronze Star Medal award. ERDC Commander Col. Richard B. Jenkins presented the medal.

    Winchester native Staff Sgt. Andrew Jenkins was recently selected as the distinguished graduate of the Advanced Topographic Analyst Course during a graduation ceremony at Fort Belvoir, Va. Jenkins is assigned to the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Topographic Engineering Center (TEC), Alexandria, Va. He is the noncommissioned officer in charge of TEC’s Military Support Team.
